Requirements

All North Carolina surplus lines licensees (resident and non-resident) must join the NCSLA to retain a surplus lines license and allow access to the SLIP filing system. In cases where there are multiple North Carolina surplus lines licensees in one office, all licensees will be required to be members of the NCSLA before the office is granted access to SLIP.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Important Update:

The NCSLA Board of Directors has made a decision to eliminate the NCSLA membership dues starting with the 2021-2022 membership year. Any individual surplus lines licensee (resident or non-resident) will automatically become a member when they receive or renew their NC surplus lines license. Therefore, membership registration with the NCSLA will no longer be required.

If you received a notice from the NCDOI for non-payment of NCSLA membership dues year 2020-2021, please contact us for instructions at contact@ncsla.com.
